Executive Chef, Brian Cullen

Meet Our Chef

Chef Brian Cullen is the Executive Chef for George M. Steinbrenner Field: Tampa's premier special events venue and spring home to the New York Yankees for over 20 years.

Brian's passion for cooking came from his childhood years in Queens, New York.  Brian and his sisters had to choose between cooking dinner or cleaning afterwards and to him, the choice was easy.   He spent his college years close to home at The New York Restaurant School in New York, New York.  After graduation he started his career at the Jones Beach State Park in Long Island followed by Captree State Park in Suffolk.  As opportunities arose, Brian moved to Tampa and spent 10 years at Tropicana field before serving as the Executive Chef for the last 15 seasons at Steinbrenner Field.

Brian's culinary life continues to bring him endless opportunities.  He was awarded with a first place win in a Downtown Tampa cooking competition against two other Executive Chef's.  At the 2005 Super Bowl, hosted in Jacksonville FL, Brian found himself catering for the VIP section filled with people like Paul McCartney, Alicia Keys, Gretchen Wilson and The Charlie Daniels Band.

His continued inspiration comes from his mindset that culinary knowledge is endless.  Brian says it's all about the flavors.  "There are too many flavors to know it and have tried it all.  If you think you know it all, you don't."
