2021 Yankees Sprint to Spring 5K & Fun Run General Information and FAQ’S

Thank you for your interest in our 2021 Yankees Sprint to Spring 5K & Fun Run. We are opening registration as a live, in-person race, however, due to the uncertain nature of Covid-19, if cancellation of the in-person race is deemed necessary, we will move to a virtual event. Please note: postponement of the race, registration transfers, nor refunds are an option.

Q: What precautions will be taken on race day to mitigate Covid-19 related concerns?

A: Temperature check may be required upon entry on the GMS Field property.  Participants are expected to wear face coverings in the registration areas and to maintain a 6-foot distance from other runners not in their household. Rolling start times will be employed to allow for proper social distancing.

A: You will be given the option to run virtually and pick up your packet.

Q: Do participants receive a ticket to a Yankees Spring Training game?
A: After January 1st, participants will receive an exclusive link to purchase discounted Spring Training tickets for select games. Ticket discount offer is subject to change due to potential constraints on, or elimination of, fan attendance.

Q: How does a virtual race work?

A: A virtual run/walk event is an event that you can run or walk from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym, or on the track. You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself.

Q: Will I still receive a t-shirt, bib and finisher medal if the race goes virtual?
A: All participants will still receive their t-shirt, bib and finishers medal which will be mailed 7-10 business days from the date of the event (March 14th).

Q: If the race goes virtual, do I have to submit my race time?

A: Submitting your race time is optional.  If race result is submitted via Race Roster, it will automatically be posted on our Sprint to Spring results platform.

Q: If the race goes virtual, will awards be mailed for top finishers?

A: Unfortunately, no. With a virtual event, we depend on an honor system. Thus, there’s a lot of room for reporting errors and no way for us to 100% confirm fair and accurate race results.
